3D-CIRCULAR Kick-off Meeting in Mytilene

European partners meet at the University of the Aegean to launch collaboration on digital technologies and the circular economy

3D-CIRCULAR Kick-off Meeting in Mytilene

The first in-person Kick-off Meeting of 3D-CIRCULAR took place in Mytilene on 3 and 4 September 2025, bringing together the partners of the European project Digital Deep Tech Driven Circular Economy.

The project is coordinated by the University of the Aegean, with Professor Christos Kalloniatis as Scientific Coordinator. Professor Kalloniatis is a member of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication and Director of the PrivaSI Research Laboratory.

A European partnership for digital and green skills

Co-funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), 3D-CIRCULAR brings together 32 partners from 14 European countries, including universities, research centres, businesses and organisations. The project runs for 48 months, from August 2025 to July 2029, with a total budget of €20 million.

3D-CIRCULAR aims to develop a new generation of educational and certification programmes connecting advanced digital technologies with circular economy principles. Through Master’s programmes, doctoral programmes and recognised micro-credentials, it seeks to strengthen skills across the European labour market and support the transition towards a green and digital economy.

Setting the project in motion

During the meeting, partners presented the project’s objectives, timeline, work packages and dissemination activities. Discussions placed particular emphasis on collaboration between academia and industry, laying the foundations for project implementation and the sustainable use of its results.
