Recently, the PrivaSI Laboratory visited Madeira, Portugal as part of the GDPrApp Erasmus+ programme. This initiative aims to inform and educate students, parents, and teachers about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and to promote safe internet practices through the use of a specially designed serious game.
Our researchers Dr. Katerina Mavroeidi and Dr. Panagiotis Psomos, participated in the visit, continuing their active involvement in the project’s educational and collaborative activities.
This transnational meeting gathered all project partners for two days of collaborative planning, knowledge sharing, and implementation alignment. Beginning with classroom visits and informal exchanges with local staff and students, the meeting transitioned into focused sessions addressing progress across core project components, including GDPR-related educational research, teacher and parent training materials, and the early development of the mobile educational serious game. Partners presented updates on their respective work packages, clarified upcoming tasks, and jointly mapped out the next steps. The consortium also reviewed the project’s dissemination strategy in depth, covering website development, social media engagement, newsletters, and publication plans, ensuring consistent outreach and stakeholder communication. By its conclusion, the meeting had successfully strengthened coordination, reaffirmed common objectives, and equipped the partnership to move forward with clarity and cohesion.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our project partners for their continued support, as well as to the local hosts Direção Regional de Educação in Madeira for their kind hospitality.
The implementation of the GDPrApp is being funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
