The 16th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA 2025) was held from July 10 to 12, 2025, in Mytilene. The event was hosted by the PrivaSI Lab of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean and was technically co-sponsored by the IEEE, the University of Piraeus, and the University of Thessaly.

IISA 2025 reaffirmed its position as an internationally recognized forum for the dissemination of innovative research in artificial intelligence, information systems, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The conference featured six keynote addresses by internationally renowned scholars, including Professors Steven Furnell, Nathan Clarke, Andreas Spanias, Petros Drineas, Peristera Paschou, and Miltiadis Alamaniotis, who offered critical insights into topics ranging from cybersecurity and quantum computing to data-driven genetics and nuclear security.

In total, the conference hosted over 120 presentations across 25 thematic sessions. Topics included smart infrastructure, sustainable energy systems, assistive technologies, intelligent applications in healthcare, and the ethical dimensions of AI. The conference also recognized outstanding student research with paper awards sponsored by the Institute of Biological & Artificial Intelligence.

A notable addition to the program was the social event held in the town of Molyvos, which allowed participants to experience the rich historical and cultural landscape of Lesvos. The conference closed with remarks from Professors Maria Virvou and George A. Tsihrintzis of the University of Piraeus, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary innovation in addressing contemporary technological challenges.
